Meryl Streep has been very focal about insisting that she used to be blind to Harvey Weinstein’s crimes, regardless of Rose McGowan criticizing her, announcing that Meryl should have identified. She instructed Huffington Post: “I wasn’t deliberately silent. I didn’t know. I don’t tacitly approve of rape. I didn’t know. I don’t like young women being assaulted. I didn’t know this was happening.”
She has now been the topic of side road artwork round Los Angeles, appearing Streep along Weinstein with a purple banner announcing “SHE KNEW” overlaying her eyes.
Twitter have taken to condemning Meryl if it is true that she used to be conscious all alongside, to stating that it is unfair in charge the crimes of guys on girls.
While it is for sure true that silence allows abusers, we indisputably agree that striking extra blame on girls is damaging. Meryl, we applaud you on your remark. 🙌
