George Takei is strolling again questionable feedback he made about grabbing males to “persuade” them to have intercourse within the wake of a sexual attack allegation towards him.
Days after former fashion Scott R. Brunton stated Takei groped him with out his consent 36 years in the past within the actor’s house, a month-old interview between the “Star Trek” megastar and radio host Howard Stern resurfaced that no doubt didn’t do him any favors.
In the dialog, Takei jokes about touching males towards their will again in his “Star Trek” heyday, apparently admitting to a couple beside the point habits, whilst nonetheless keeping up that the whole lot was once consensual.
On Monday, the actor apologized for the feedback he made on-air, explaining that he was once taking part in a “naughty gay grandpa” cool animated film, one thing he now regrets.
“Many have raised concern over a back-and-forth between Howard Stern and myself, where we joked about me touching men during my Star Trek days fifty years ago,” Takei wrote on Facebook. “Out of context, I agree that the joke was distasteful, and I’m very sorry he and I made fun out of a serious matter.”
“I want to be clear: I have never forced myself upon someone during a date. Sometimes my dates were the initiators, and sometimes I was,” he persevered. “It was always by mutual consent. I see now that that it has come across poorly in the awkward sketch, and I apologize for playing along with Howard’s insinuation.”
He then reiterated that non-consensual acts move towards the whole lot he believes in and that he would by no means have interaction in this sort of habits.
Well, no less than he’s no longer blaming Russian bots for this scandal anymore.
